I have worked as a director in the Blossom Day Homes, for 6 years. I started with the toddlers and presently teach preschoolers.  I am also a volunteer as a Sunday school teacher at my church. I was previously a midwife and also a nanny for a toddler and preschooler.  Caring for children has been my life time pursuit and career.  I am also the mother of a beautiful teenage girl.

Jiya

Tulip - Day Home Director

I am from the Philippines and I’ve been living in Canada for the past 3 years. I have a degree of Tourism Management and certificate of Teacher Education from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I’ve been working with Blossom since September 2018. I have a Level 1 Certificate for Child Development. I was always very fond of kids. When I was I the Philippines I liked to babysit my nieces and nephews. I love learning from them, and I love how positive, optimistic and naturally curious they were. I love working with children not only because I get to teach them, but I also learn to look at things on different perspective because they challenge me. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of the children’s growth and be able to see how they improve in everything they do.

Leila

Buttercup - Day Home Director

I have eight years of experience working in Childcare and loved every moment of it. I loved my role like a proud big sister. I loved the role so much, that I started working in childcare as a nanny when I was 16 years old, with a family that had 3 boys. There were four children by the time I turned 19. The expressions of appreciation that I receive from the families that I have helped, bring much satisfaction and happiness to in my life. I have strong family values so, helping families and having the opportunity to get to know them is a blessing.  Every child I have worked with has a special place in my heart that I will always remember and cherish each one. Helping young children develop a strong, kind heart is a strong motivator for me.  My role is to support you the parent, to prepare your children as they begin the journey of life.

Roselym

Bubbles - Day Home Director

I am from Venezuela., happily married with a young boy. I have a bachelor degree in preschool and I have worked as a teacher for over a decade. I enjoyed being creative and creating different activities for children, depending on their interest. Interesting activities are critical to hold the attention and peak the curiosity for them. I also believe that children learn best through play.  For them, they use their imagination to the explore and lean an this in itself is very enjoyable. I love being a teacher; it is wonderful and magical. The daily contact I have with my kids is very special to me. I really love my position because kids help me to grow up like a person and makes my life's purpose complete. My hobbies are dancing and reading but I also enjoy watching a good movie or to meet with my friends to exercise, participate in a sporting and or enjoy a meal together.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Education with a focus in Preschool Education. I have more than 25 years of experience teaching children between the ages of 6 moths to 12 years. I love singing with the children, because I have noticed they enjoy singing and learn quickly doing so. I am very hands on.  I love painting and teaching crafts with the children. I enjoy their creativity, imagination, and the joy they get when they see what they can do. I am originally from Colombia but have been in Canada for over 10 years.  I am married and a very proud mother of two young adults. Since I was a child, my dream job was becoming a teacher. Although teaching is my passion it has evolved into an administrative position where I am the Academic Director for Blossom Day Homes.

Cliff Dawson-North

Partner - Administration

I manage the back end at Blossom. My professional background makes me the perfect candidate for the less glamorous side of the business. From accounting to purchasing, and maintenance to  management, I always to have my hands full!  As Miss Alba's family and my wife and myself are family friends I chose to come out of retirement to support Alba's dream of operating a childcare business. My wife were never blessed with children of our own and now I am surrounded by the beautiful children.  This is very fulfilling and satisfying for me.
